Disneyland Snacks: Our Quest for the Best!

Before leaving for the Disneyland Half Marathon in September, I did some research about the best Disneyland Snacks according to vloggers like I’m Sarah Snitch, (my favorite Disney vlogger – her videos are awesome,) and blogs such as the Disney Food Blog. From them, I assembled quite the list of goodies the four of us must try!

Did we get to them all? No, but my-oh-my, we sure had a blast trying! And now we have yet another reason to go back next year, to try ones we missed. Until then, here’s our thoughts on Disneyland Snacks and our favorites!

If you’d like to see our video on this topic:

Oh, and btw? I learned my lesson of not getting really great pictures of each snack. I’ll do better when we gather info for our Disney World Snacks video!

1.) Chili Cone Queso at Cozy Cone Motel: A-

Disneyland Snacks: Our Quest for the BestSince I’m more of a bread snacker instead of a sweets lover, I was really looking forward to trying this! This certainly did not disappoint. It was of those snacks that start off tasting okay but improve greatly as time goes on. You know, the kind you think about hours after finishing. (Or maybe it was from the burps?) Regardless, my initial B+ was incorrect. I’ve since upgraded it to an A-.

2.) Jalapeño Cheese Pretzel: A+++

Disneyland Snacks: Our Quest for the Best

The oh-so-wonderful cheese pretzel was already my favorite Disney World snack … so I was a.) quite heartbroken to learn it’s no longer available there, and b.) completely thrilled to learn it’s sold at Disneyland. The fact that Rob never tried it, (hence, the awkward photo above with me anticipating his response,) made this a must-have snack for both of us!

It did not disappoint. Best snack ever. ‘Nuff said.

3.) Cheddar Garlic Bagel Twist: B+

Disneyland Snacks: Our Quest for the Best

I made the mistake of trying this while still stuffed from the jalapeno cheese pretzel. Had I not, maybe I would have had a greater appreciation for what Jackey quite accurately called, “an everything bagel with cheese.” James really enjoyed it, so I’ll have to give this a bad boy another try next time. As well as the…

4.) Chocolate Twist from Maurice’s Treats: B-

Despite being stuffed, I went ahead and ordered this for research purposes. Because that’s the kind of dedicated blogger I am. (Plus it also looked amazing.) It was good in a this is yummy, but I’ll probably never order it again. Or in a fantastic treat, but not really worth the calories so if I’m going to blow my diet, it will be for something else.

Still really good, though. B-. Once.

5.) Tigger Tail from Pooh’s Corner: B

Disneyland Snacks: Our Quest for the Best

This snack looked so orangely yummy that I was surprised Rob gave this a B. (I would have tried it, but I was at the put one more thing in your mouth and you’ll vomit stage. Had it not been so messy and awkward to eat, he might have upgraded it to a solid A. The Tigger Tail sure is pretty, though!

6.) Peanut Butter Sandwich from Pooh’s Corner: A+

Disneyland Snacks: Our Quest for the Best!

This little bad boy might not be as pretty as the Tigger Tail, but it sure was awesome! And Rob’s favorite, by far. I wasn’t as in love with it at first, but changed my mind while eating it for breakfast the next morning. A great treat … but one to share if you’re not big on super rich foods.

7.) Matterhorn Macaroon: B … maybe?

Disneyland Snacks: Our Quest for the Best!

Gotta say, I wasn’t too excited about trying this since I’m not a big coconut, macaroon gal, so I was glad Jackey and Rob gave it a go. Maybe I should have tried it since it is a Disneyland classic. As for their grading, well, it was all over the place so I’m giving it a B in another really good but probably never order it again kind of way.

8.) Mickey Pretzel: A+

Disneyland Snacks: Our Quest for the Best!

Rob and Brooke from @BibbidiBobbidiBrooke had some extra time on Monday to try different snacks, starting with Brooke’s favorite Disney treat … the oh-so-classic Mickey Pretzel. I’m ashamed to say I’ve yet to try this. Which is odd. I love pretzels. Especially with gobs of mustard. Next time, for sure!

9.) Raspberry Tart Mararoon: A+

Disneyland Snacks: Our Quest for the Best!

Despite not being a macaroon fan, this is one I would surely make an exception for. Just look at those raspberries! This is Brooke’s favorite Disneyland treat and on my list of things to try next September. I mean, those raspberries!

10.) Mickey Cookie: A

Disneyland Snacks: Our Quest for the Best!

Aren’t decorated cookies just too pretty to eat? Usually, I think so, but here’s another exception to my rules. Had I still been in California, I certainly would have bugged Rob for one of those ears since this Mickey Cookie looks like it could feed a family of four.

11.) Gourmet Mickey Treat: B-

Disneyland Snacks: Our Quest for the Best!Must admit. It was midnight, the parks were closing, and I was in need of one last snack to round out my video portion. Enter the Gourmet Mickey Krispy Treat. I had to get some kind of krispy since it’s a favorite of Sara Hudson, who will soon be posting on Wednesday’s here at Joyful Miles. This was good in an only available for a limited time kind of way, but I should have gone with Megan’s…

12.) Gourmet Mickey Rice Crispy Treat with M&M’s: A

Disneyland Snacks: Our Quest for the Best!

I’ve had this before at Disney World … love, love, love … so it might have been a better option. It also would have been great the next day, since the pretzels on mine got a bit stale overnight. Megan, you were right about this!

So there you have it, our take on must-try Disneyland Desserts. So now that we’ve burned off the calories, what are my top three favorites?

  1. The Jalapeno Cheese Pretzel … please bring these back to Disney World!
  2. Chili Cone Queso … although next time, I’m trying the Mac ‘N Cheese.
  3. Peanut Butter Sandwich from Pooh’s Corner … very yummy for my tummy. (I didn’t just say that, did I?)

So what about you?
