Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend: We're REGISTERED!

Super Heroes Half Marathon: Oops, we did it again!

Dang my computer.

It has somehow, someway contracted a fierce runDisney virus that has somehow, someway registered me for the 2017 Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend Gauntlet Challenge. Not only that, but this pesky virus also somehow, someway managed to contact Jennifer from the Wish Upon A Star With Us travel agency about the sold-out Spider-Man 5k and bought a bib there as well. Clearly, I need to do more virus checks. And clearly, Jackey does, too, seeing as how she’s somehow, someway also found herself registered for all three races.

Clearly, that’s a lie.

And clearly, we have a problem. Hello, my name is Laura and I’m a runDisneyaholic.

But really, we had good reason to whip out our credit cards a couple weeks ago. First, there’s the AMAZING time we had at the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend. Seriously. runDisney did a FANTASTIC job, making folks fall in love with them all over again, us included … although that love had never gone away. Second, the rumors over Disneyland races have been swirling stronger and stronger, with some folks saying there will be a two year hiatus, some saying they will only offer 5k’s and 10k’s, etc.

We love Disneyland races.

In many aspects, we enjoy them more than Disney World races, thanks to smaller fields, more park time, and a charming, intimate vibe.

So on Tuesday, one day after we returned from California, we noticed how bibs for the Gauntlet Challenge were still available. Surely once news did break about Disneyland races, those bibs would be snatched faster than Dash can finish a kid’s race.

So really, we had no choice to jump, right?

Jump we did.

Of course, it would have been intelligent to research hotel availability before our feet hit the bottom of the deep end because afterwards, we discovered how NOTHING WAS AVAILABLE, except for some hotels we were a little leery about. Cue the panic. Would we be sleeping on benches? No, we couldn’t! Anaheim took away the benches! Thankfully, however, after I had posted in a runDisney-based Facebook group our concerns, a gal notified us about an extra book she had booked. Would we like to take it?

Oh, heck yeah. And bonus! It’s at Best Western Stovall’s, where we had just stayed for the Disneyland Half!

Funny how things work out sometimes.

So yep, folks, we’re registered for yet another race that was SO NOT on our radar, just like the Disneyland Half one wasn’t back in March. But we’re super excited. And we have some epic costumes planned … which I have totally vowed to finish EARLY so I don’t have the same last-minute stress as I did with our Disneyland costumes.

There’s a lot more I want to do better as well. Like more consistent blogging. Due to summer stress, business demands, and travel, I’ve really been slacking with posts lately. I need to figure out a way to keep up with the blog, YouTube, writing, and business work … and there’s something else I’m forgetting … OH YEAH, training for the Dopey Challenge!

But that all is a post for another day. Until then…

QOTD: Are you registered for runDisney’s upcoming Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend? Or have you run this race before and can give me some tips? If so, please leave them in the comments below.

And as always, take care and have a joyful day!
