We’re still not quite sure how it happened. Maybe there’s a runDisney virus on our computers that ran rampant with our credit card info? But for some reason … Jackey and I woke to find ourselves registered for the Disneyland Double Dare Challenge! And what’s more odd is how our flights are booked, too … and there were several Priceline searches done for hotels … how odd indeed!
Now if only that runDisney virus would have gotten us into the Incredibles 5k before it sold out …
Seriously, though, we’ve been kicking around the notion of doing this race weekend again for months, seeing as how it’s collectively our favorite! But after coughing up money for the WDW Marathon Weekend Dopey Challenge and paying for our accommodations, it was hard making that final decision.
But then runDisney announced the weekend’s theme.
Pixar.
PIXAR!!!!

Oh my goodness, are you serious??? And not just any Pixar, but Monsters Inc for the Disneyland 10k and Toy Story for the Half Marathon, CAN YOU IMAGINE THE MEDALS!! Our desire to register went up 50% and last night, we finally pulled out our credit cards and made it official.
WE’RE SO EXCITED!!!
Of course, because of Dopey, (and my goal of going to the Wine & Dine Half Marathon to volunteer and cheer,) we’re going total bargain basement for this trip. No sit-down meals, no pricey resorts, very little commemorative merchandise, and minimal park days. We’re also saving money by reusing costumes we’ve already worn – our Monsters University Cheerleaders and Jessie from Toy Story, with a few modifications.
Still.
WE’RE SO EXCITED!!
And I’ve contacted a travel agency, in hopes we can get two Incredibles 5k bibs. Very unlikely, but you never know! So until then, congrats to everyone else who has registered, it’s going to be an amazing weekend! And if you’d like, here’s our recaps from last year, plus links to my video recaps and Jammin’ On The Run chats:

Hi Laura!
I found your blog and vlog recently while watching race recaps on Youtube. I’m a Princess Half devotee, and just ran my third Princess and second Glass Slipper this year. I had such a great time, I also just signed up for the Disneyland Half for this year and it will be my first DL race, which is really exciting. Love your blog, and your enthusiasm for running. It’s contagious! Keep up the good work. P.S., I also love Spice World, so you’re not alone on that one!
Right?? I mean, that part where the Spice Girls jump the bus over the London Bridge is pure classic brilliance. 😉 Which reminds me. I should get that on DVD since someone borrowed mine and never returned it!
So glad you signed up for the Disneyland Half! The DL races are so amazing … there’s a different vibe, a more casual feeling. Plus, no waking up three hours prior to race time! And oh my goodness, imagine the Pixar medals. They’re going to be amazing!
Thanks for stopping by and watching the videos. I appreciate the support! 🙂
