Confession: I did a horrible job with my Goofy Challenge Goals, finishing a mere 36% instead of at least 50%. Why? Well, depression from my running injury had something to do with it as I’ve discussed in this Recover, Run, Rejoice video. Considering the holidays, I also made unrealistic goals, a habit I’ve yet to break.
Plus I flat out procrastinated.
Instead of launching into a round of mental shaming and burying myself in regret … Lord knows I do enough of that already … I wiped the slate clean on January 1st. Megan and I also changed up how we’re doing things this year. Rather than setting goals to accomplish before our next major race, we’re making quarterly ones. Also, there’s a ten goal limit in an attempt for me to be more realistic. We’re still considering a 50% completion a total win, however, since happiness is our objective, not perfection.
So with that in mind, here’s mine – hopefully realistic while also still a push!
1.) Complete all of Bob’s surgery prep work for his January 17th hip replacement and take care of his recovery. (My top goal since he’s my man!)
2.) Finish A Year of Happy Endings first draft and upload to Wattpad.
3.) Starting March 1st, write 1,000 words a day. Fiction, nonfiction, and blog content all count! To-Do lists do not.
4.) Complete our tax and college work.
5.) Freshen my husband’s business website.
6.) Complete Princess Half Marathon vlog tips videos and blog posts.
7.) Re-do Joyful Miles’ Blog and YouTube headers. (I’m having a hard time finding the perfect image!)
8.) Complete the Power 90 workout program.
9.) Complete another 30-Day Push-Up Challenge.
10.) Read six books.
There you go, my ten goals for the first quarter of 2017. And my vision board for this year as well … some of it makes sense, some might not, but all these images represent the kind of person I want to be – someone who inspires, not only myself, but others!
QOTD: What are your goals this year? Have you made a vision board and if so, what images are on it?
Have a joyful day!
