Hello and welcome to Joyful Miles! I’m SO EXCITED about writing this post because Megan, Jackey, and I first decided to do this back in January while running the Dopey Challenge.
But once we got back home, though, life got crazy and we procrastinated. A lot. Especially me, since fear and doubt made me question whether the world really needed another running blog when there’s so many great ones out there.
Fear + Doubt = Me too afraid to jump.
Plus there’s the fact that I’ve already been blogging for years on my author website, Write, Run, Rejoice, which has been failing since I could never figure out who I was writing for. Writers? Runners? Wrinners? So instead of figuring it out, I procrastinated.
I tend to do that.
Then during the Princess Half Marathon in February, a friend from our running group shared something sweet. She said that I’m her running hero and the reason why she’s training for a half marathon.
Gotta tell you. That hit deep. And make me cry. And hug her about four times.
I already knew Megan and Jackey have inspired others in similar ways, so later that night, I texted them saying we need to do this, to share our knowledge, thoughts, and experiences and if it inspires just one woman to change her life through fitness, well, it will be worth it.
So here we are, jumping into Joyful Miles! And when I say jump, I mean in the deep end since we’ve also started a YouTube channel. Maybe we’re in over our heads, but whatever, it’s cool.
The water feels great.
