August’s Ultimate Coffee Date

Wow. August already! It must be because Bob and I are in the truck at this very moment, heading to the beach for a much-needed vacation. I’m super excited but a small part of me is discouraged …

Today I’m linking up with Coco & Deborah, Got2Run4Me, and Confessions of a Mother Runner!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I wanted to be farther along with my quarterly goals by this time. How I also wanted the weight I had gained while being injured for ten months to be gone, but nope, neither happened.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how life has been an overwhelming, stressful mess in July. I’d also tell you how I responded by reverting to old bad habits of not eating enough, of taking horrible care of myself, and as a result, I’m exhausted and worn out.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how my plan was to have ALL my August content for the blog and YouTube channel pre-written and scheduled so I could kick back and relax while on vacation … but that didn’t exactly work out. Not even close. Sigh.

So…

If we were having coffee, you’d tell me to cut myself some slack, to take a breath, chill a little and lighten up. You’d tell me to stop beating myself up because what really matters precious time spent with my family at our beach house. How awesome it will be hanging out on the deck, drinking beers and laughing. How much fun kayaking will be and reading on the beach. How my family won’t care about those extra pounds, unchecked goals, and unwritten blog posts. Do I really want to miss one single moment by being diasappointed in myself?

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how you’re absolutely right.

Besides, September is a much better month for hitting those goals hard.
