Anyone who’s trained for a marathon knows this requires a lot of road time where solo runners are left alone with their thoughts. For a training plan such as Hal Higdon’s Novice 2, we’re talking 460 miles worth which, for me, takes approximately 76 hours and 40 minutes. Wow. That’s a lot of time alone with my thoughts.
