March Ultimate Coffee Date

Happy Saturday, everyone! It’s cold, my injured foot needs a break, and I have tons of Princess Half Marathon content to write and produce, so I’m spending the entire weekend with butt in chair and fingers on keyboard. But first, I thought I’d join up with Deborah over at Confessions of a Mother Runner and Coco at Running with Perseverance for their March Ultimate Coffee Date blog link up!

Not gonna lie. Kind of excited about doing this for the first time. Coffee? Bloggers? Yes, please!

If we were having coffee, I would whine about tell you … how much pain I am in from sleeping funny the other night. Don’t know how I managed to do this, but I threw something out near my left shoulder blade so at the moment, I reek of Ben Gay, there’s a heat pad on my back, and I had to take some pain killers. So if you could pretty-please refill my coffee cup, I’d be greatly appreciative.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you … how I discovered a load of towels in my washer that I forgot to dry before leaving for the Princess Half Marathon. They stunk. Like, a lot.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you … how much I miss my top-load washing machine because it never stunk like my front-load one does.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you … how much I also desperately miss running and CANNOT WAIT to get back on the road!! So somebody please run for me today. #beinginjuredsucks

If we were having coffee, I would tell you … how shocked I am over the fact that I’ve yet to see the Gilmore Girls A Year in the Life reunion!!! Seriously?? How is this possible considering I’ve loved the show from the very, very beginning?

This is how: First I wanted to catch up with the seasons which took me until December. Then my husband, after watching the last season with me, said he’d watch the revival as well, so I’ve been waiting for the perfect weekend to make an event of it. You know, binge watch with tons of coffee and snacks, all bundled up. So now our plan is to watch it next weekend while we’re at our beach house and after my Shenanigans 5k run!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you … how excited I am about getting back to work after the Princess Half Marathon! I am never sad about coming home after a vacation. Instead, I feel energized and renewed, ready to roll my sleeves up and attack my goals with fresh vigor.

This is especially important now that our one-year blogiversary is coming up in April. I’ve been giving lots of thoughts over how Joyful Miles has shaped up, both with the blog and YouTube channel. There’s so much that I love, but there’s also room for lots of improvement since I, personally, still don’t feel as though I’ve hit my pace or that I’m doing my best to inspire others, which has always been my #1 goal!

And finally…

If we were having coffee, I would tell you … how I must, MUST finally finish my current novel this month! Seriously. Those voices in my head … the ones that have been telling me I’m a horrible writer … has been winning for way too long. I’m not a horrible writer. Horrible writers do not sell books to major publishers twice with this book and this book.

Am I the among the best? No. But horrible? Heck no.

So THIS IS THE MONTH that I finish A Year of Happy Endings. If you’d like to read along and follow my progress, you can do so for free on Wattpad. (I will be self-publishing this under the pseudonym Sidney Brooks. Catchy name, huh? Coming up with it was fun.)

And there’s also my first quarter goals I need to finish! So with that, I’m signing off. But thanks, Deborah and Coco, this blog link up is so much fun!

QOTD: What would you tell me over coffee?

Happy running and have a joyful day!

  1. I dont’ think my first comment went through so trying again. So glad to have you join us for the coffee date today. Look forward to getting to know you! I hate when you wake up with those random aches and they really hurt. Hope you are feeling better and back to running soon. I have so many books that I have half started as well-oops

    1. Thanks, those aches are now thankfully gone! And what kind of books have you started? I have many fiction novels that are either half-written or finished but need major rewrites. Being a perfectionist with a nagging voice telling me they’re not good enough is my biggest flaw!

  2. How fun that you are writing a book! I’d love to do that–I love to write–but I don’t know if I have it in me.

I hope you get back to running soon!

    1. If you love to write, then of course you have it in you since that’s half the battle! What kind of books are you interested in writing? And I know this is cliche … but if I can write a book, anyone can. 😉

  3. I’m so glad you joined us for coffee — I’m happy to pour you another cup! 😉 I love how organized your desk is — that calendar!! I have visions of being that organized, but it is yet to happen.

    1. Oh, I have organizing and planning down perfectly. It’s the following through that I’ve been having a hard time with for the past year!!! 😉 And I’m looking forward to that next cup in April! 🙂

  4. Look at you with all your books! Kudos! Hope your foot feels better soon. Yikes on sleeping the wrong way. Crazy how that happens sometimes.

    1. Thanks!! Being injured still has been driving me bonkers, especially with spring just around the corner!!

  5. I don’t think my first comment went through so I’m trying again….

Hopefully whatever you did to your shoulder passes quickly!

    Congrats on your one-year blogiversary!

    1. I’ve been having comment issues, too, lately! Thanks, those aches are now gone … now if only my foot would feel better. And thanks – hard to believe it’s almost been a year! 🙂

  6. I ran Princess Half as well as a pacer. Boy was it a crowded race! Going to have my race recap up this week. Just had another race this weekend. Busy few weeks LOL!
Sucks about your shoulder, never fun waking up in pain and especially when it lingers.
Wait, you haven’t seen the Gilmore Girls reunion? You’ve got to get on it asap! 🙂

    1. You are so, so right about Gilmore Girls!! I am fixing that problem by marathoning it with my husband on Saturday while we’re at the beach. (Instead of doing a St. Patty’s day 5k. It will be way too cold!! 😂)

And that awesome, being a pacer! We were able to chat with the gentleman doing the 01:30 pace on the monorail before PHM. Very interesting, I’m looking forward to reading your recap from a pacer angle!
